Olympic Hymn
Immortal spirit of antiquity,
Father of the true, the beautiful and the good.
Descend, introduce yourself,
derrámanos your light on this ground and under this sky,
that was the first witness to your undying fame.
Give life and vivacity to this noble game
Throw wreaths of flowers that do not fade
A victorious in the race and in the strife!
Create in our breasts, hearts of steel!
In thy light, plains, mountains and seas
roseo glow in a shade and form a vast temple
in which all nations throng to adore thee,
Oh immortal spirit of antiquity!
Olympic Anthem (first performed at the Athens 1896 Olympic Games)
